Americash Jewelry & Coin Buyer: 9 Things You Need to Know About Attending Lollapalooza in 2022

Summer wouldn’t be summer without one of the hottest music festivals held in the United States — Lollapalooza. Thousands of music fans will flock to Grant Park in Chicago to hear a variety of music, from alternative rock to electronic soul. If you’re ready to head to the Windy City this summer to dance and hear music in the sunshine, here are nine things to know about attending the annual Lollapalooza event.

What Is Lollapalooza?

Attending Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza is a four-day music festival featuring alternative rock, hip-hop, and other genres that’s held yearly in Chicago. Today, Lollapalooza takes place in Chicago, but it started out as a touring show with multiple bands playing in a variety of venues. As the years went by, Lollapalooza added extra activities, from artistic demonstrations to cultural events. In 2005, the founder of Lollapalooza, Perry Farrell of the alternative rock band Jane’s Addiction, partnered with Capital Sports and Entertainment to hold the event annually in Chicago, and since then, attendance has skyrocketed.

Where Did the Name Lollapalooza Come From?

Perry Farrell heard the term Lollapalooza used in a Three Stooges movie and, upon researching the word, found it had a meaning that resonated with him. Supposedly, the term dates back to the early 19th century, and it means something extraordinary or impressive. That concept was Farrell’s vision of this multi-day, multiple-band summer music festival.

You can find Lollapalooza at the historic Hutchinson Field Grant Park in Chicago. Mark your calendar for July 28 through July 31, 2022, to attend this fun, iconic, and music-filled summer event.
